On this page you can experience dialect speakers reading Lancashire literature by not only hearing the dialect but seeing the source poem as well. This will be particularly beneficial to those unused to the sight and sound of the County's dialect and we hope will encourage people to start 'having a go' themselves once familiarity is achieved.

The Archives

The Archive of the Society is a 'work in progress' and will incorporate a number of resources for those interested in the literature, both written and spoken, and will consist of text based and audio- visual recordings of this material.

Our work will involve people in the County by capturing the dialect as it exists and archive this for future generations. This material will be available through online viewers, audio streams and download choice.

In order to make the Archive as accessible as possible , it is split into three main areas: the Aural, the Visual, and the Literature resource. Each of these will contain material connected with the literary and spoken heritage of Lancashire.
